Presentation

Three years ago I retired from the Health Care Programs after 27 years of service. Since I am a very active and a very dynamic person, and also because of my love for all kinds of animals, I decided to take a course in the art of grooming. It was a real pleasure for me to learn how to groom a dog or a cat, especially when I could exercise on my dog whose fur needs a lot of grooming. In 2004, I decided to buy a pure bred cat. I did hours of research to discover the idealistic breed for me. The Birman cat gathers all the characteristics I was looking for: its character and its physical aspect were the right combination to please me.

Ever since I was a little girl, I always had cats. I also had horses. I raised and trained a colt for horseback riding western style. A few years ago, I bred Malamute dogs and trained them for sleigh riding. But now, since I have plenty of free time, I come back to my first passion: cats. When I was a child, my family would call me the cats' mother. I was present at all deliveries, helping the female cat with the best of my knowledge. What a challenge and a pleasure this was!

Doris, avec ses deux Birmans reproducteurs
I live in the beautiful region of La Baie des Chaleurs, more precisely in Carleton-sur-mer, between the sea and the mountain as we say here. I am a beginner in the cattery business. But I do it for the love of cats. I own four Birman cats, three males - two of them are sterile - and a female. Here is my story:

I had my first Birman cats, Jade (seal point) and Saphir (blue point). They are brother and sister. I bought the two cats so that they would not feel lonely. Birman cats love company. After having Saphir neutered, I looked for a male for Jade. I found the wonderful Surrender (cream lynx). Unfortunately, Surrender had a little anomaly according to the specifications of the breed, so I had him neutered too. He is such a sweet cat and I love him so much, I kept him and looked again for another male. Then I found the magnificent Torrent (lilac point). I was ready for my cattery business.
